Revenge is so sweet. After being swept by the Cubs at Wrigley Field, my White Sox returned the favor at the Cell. They played extremely well, and basically looked like they should. Their starting pitching was very good, the bullpen was phenomenal, the defense allowed very few errors, and the offense hit home runs. I was happy to see a couple of bunts laid down on Sunday’s game, and watched the Sox turn a number of impressive double-plays. Paul Konerko better watch his back because Nick Swisher is proving himself to be a very strong defensive first baseman.
In other news, there’s still nothing to report on the baby front. Laura started to get contractions yesterday evening, but they’re stopped since. She is feeling very ill, and it seems like this thing could happen at any moment. Keep checking here, of course I’ll keep you all posted.

I’ve been right on some key things through both of our pregnancies:
1. I knew Claire was going to be a girl.
2. I knew our second was going to be a boy.
I also predicted that he would be born on June 26th. Today! We’ll
keep you posted.

On Sunday, the weather was gorgeous, so we decided to set up Claire’s new wading pool in the backyard. We had a blast! The water pressure from our hose is a little low, but it made for a somewhat more laid back experience. Good times!

Very interesting video comparing Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan. Unfortunately, there’s no video that can illustrate leadership qualities, which Kobe obviously lacks when compared to Jordan.
Click on the “read more” link to watch the video.

So, five days have gone by since my last post and there’s still no real news to report. We’re still waiting for the contractions to get more regular. They’ve definitely slowed down, but are still happening every once in a while. As always, we’ll keep you posted if anything happens!

While I was working today, around 5:30 PM or so, Laura called me to say, “I’m having contractions.” This wasn’t the “I had a contraction,” or, “I think that was a contraction,” this was a sure thing. Here I am, however, at almost midnight, and the contractions are still occurring, but they’re not consistent yet. We’ll keep you posted!!!

So, we’ve been told July 5th as the original due date. Then at the first ultrasound we were told closer to late June, then at the most recent ultrasound, we were told June 20th. However, the original due date of July 5th still stands!
Laura feels ready to have this thing at any moment, so we’re banking on sometime in late June. Of course, we’ll let you know as soon as there’s anything else to report.

I know, this is the fourth major re-design of my web site. It started with a site managed with Drupal, but was more than I needed. I simplified and built one from scratch, which proved to be too much work, so then I built one with RapidWeaver. I was ready to finalize the site at that point, until I saw that in order to find additional themes or plug-ins, they almost all had to be purchased. That was it for me. Time to go to WordPress. I love it and I’m not changing! The main thing I was looking for was a way to share photos effectively, since that’s the main thing my site will likely be used for, as well as video.
I will still tweak all the visual elements from time to time, but the content management system will stay as WordPress and I’ve basically settled on the overall look of the site for now. Let me know what you think!
